Crypt-o-show is a parody art gallery generator, inspired by a very disappointing and comical NFT show produced by Christies. The infamous show displayed Artblock works on unsuitable screens, installed closely together, over a large squiggle on the wall. The generator creates a little gallery with a random selection of artworks that parody AB pieces – these are used as features in this work – forming a mini collection of collectibles.
Crypt-o-show is a form of ‘institutional critique’ through generative art, and about generative art, poking fun at the both the market for on-chain generative artwork collections made addictive through their lottery mechanics, as well as mocking the traditional auction house and its blundering and inelegant support for these new digital practices.
