I began exploring terraced reliefs 3 years ago, starting with lines and cellular noise, and eventually flat colors that turned into subtle gradients.
During that time, the visual concept oscillated between minimalism and busy images. I dropped the cellular noise, replacing it with 2D simplex noise modifying points on the dual grid.
The result is finally something that produces the iterations that keep me happy, something soothing and quiet. Spend some time with it, see how the light changes the landscape.
