This generative braid artwork is built in plain JavaScript, and is based on code I wrote several years ago, here updated with new aesthetics and features. This work is motivated by a beautiful mathematical structure called a braid group.
Each unique mint of the token chooses randomized parameters with varying probability weights for the number of strings, their spacing, coloring schemes and resulting color palettes, and crossing sizes, angles and frequency.
Colors are randomly generated from an algorithm, including the background color. Most of the pieces (70% probability) will feature colors from two separate hue intervals; a smaller number (20%) use only one color interval, and even more rare are the Black-White-Color palettes (6%), and the Black-and-White palette (4%).
Most of them scroll up, but approximately 7% of them scroll down.
The braid will endlessly scroll without any repetition in its pattern.
