Project #22467 — iteration #61
Minted on December 14, 2022 at 13:26I asked OpenAI chatGPT to "please create p5.js code to evolve a form in 3d, webgl" to see what would happen, as I'm exploring themes such as extinction and evolution in my specture project
It created a starter shape, in 2d (not WEBGL). so I tweaked its code in evolveForm(), merged it with my algorithms and made this as an evolution composition study, exploring how coding with AI could work going forwards. it was interesting to see the AI had added some dummy code which didn't do anything (removed), and needed to be tweaked to get it to draw at all. it made basic shapes, but I like the overall composition in fullscreen mode. some of the negative shapes are interesting, and would be good to paint, so it's worthwhile as an idea generator.
merged with my code, it does start to look like some of my earlier specture drawings, so it will be interesting in future to see where the line is between AI code and personal code - in this case with a mix of human + machine, the human parts still come to the fore
