Scalabili-TREE
Growing up and adapting to the world!
For the Decentralized Autonomous Education (https://linktr.ee/cubiclearn) (DAE) project they asked me to represent the concept of "scalability" with an artwork.
Scalability is one of the ten principles on which the DAE project is based. The other nine principles were represented by nine other artists.
To represent the concept of scalability in a visual way, with a generative algorithm, I was inspired by nature and plants.
I represented this concept through the growth rings of trees, drawing shapes that evoked the section of a cut tree. Each ring represents the growth of the tree and its ability to adapt to the environment while continuing to function efficiently.
This can involve a variety of different strategies, for example the tree can increase root depth and branch out to support a larger canopy, or develop mechanisms to conserve water and nutrients to survive in a dry environment
One key aspect of scalability in trees is the ability to adapt to changing environmental conditions over time.
The work was created through the construction of a generative algorithm that designs each ring starting from the center, gradually adding the outer layers, exactly as the tree itself would do.
Everything is generated with code.
This work uses p5.js library and c2.js library.
