Rugby is a modern interpretation of classic oriental rugs, which are conceived using generative design methods and antique-driven designs that can adapt and morph. The patterns are based on traditional nomadic designs from Persia, Anatolia, Armenia, Central Asia, and southern Russia.

The generative process of Rugby creates unlimited possibilities for unique and intricate rug designs. Each rug is unique and the constellation of motifs changes with each design. The patterns vary from one corner to the other. Some of the designs may appear at first as if they were quadruply mirrored, but they are not. The motifs never repeat themselves and thus, even after decades of possession and viewing, one can always find new details.
