Cantabile is a musical term, meaning in a song-like style or singing style. It is delicate, beautiful, light and flowing.

The centrepiece is the sakura, or cherry blossom, a symbol of hope and renewal, yet so delicate that it also has come to represent mortality. The short blooming period of Sakura is a reminder of the fleeting nature of life. Although beautiful and brilliant as they bloom, the flowers wither quickly.

As such, we have chosen to "paint" them in watercolour (effect), which gives it a delicate and fragile appearance, on textured "paper". The Sakura "flows" into the picture, each of them "painted" with care, in delicate bloom.

We bring you this song, Cantabile, in our genesis generative art series, a flower, a message about the fleeting nature of our existence, but hope even in adversity.
