Vitraux (stained glass) is a composition made of cut pieces of colored glass, assembled with lead or cement, supported by an iron frame, and used to decorate a bay, a door, or the walls of churches and other significant religious buildings. During the 10th, 11th and 12th centuries, stained glass windows developed as a theologically important art form and a way to convey to the masses things that the church wanted them to see or think about.

The way light passes through stained glass has a mesmerizing effect on the people and spaces below. During the day, the light from outside shines through at various angles, and people are fascinated by the designs and colors that appear inside the building in different places.

Vitraux is using the Sutcliffe pentagon algorithm to design the pieces of stained glass. The algorithm first draws a pentagon, then plots the midpoints of each of its five sides and extends a line perpendicular to each of these points to make another pentagon.
