About Bidaniel Tree Collab

As creators, we were both filled with excitement and inspiration when we embarked on this collaborative journey. In this article we explain a little about our thoughts in the process.

Bidala:

- In my opinion we begin the project because we appreciate each other's art works. For me I really love “the spring has finally arrived” generative art by Daniel and we also have something in common. I think both of us are influenced by old Japanese art painting and we are very fond of nature. Therefore, we agreed to do a project together from the 15th of April 2023.

- For me I live in a rural area surrounded with an abundance of trees and small swamp. That’s why I always draw many natures in my art work (Fig1).

- By the way I try to do abstract generative art works by using my previous work as input and later on I try to draw and paint something on those developed abstract generative art in photoshop. Believe it or not I draw it more quickly than you imagine. Sometimes I look at many Korean, Japanese and Chinese art works and my own reference photo for several hours (Fig2). After that I went back to my generative canvas and quickly drew imagination in my head on photoshop (Fig3).

- In our project even Daniel developed the code based on my drawing style but at the same time he put many of his own ideas to shape up our art works. We talked back and forth and adjusted a lot for the project. We also launched a preliminary collection on objkt.com which is generative art mixing with digital painting (Fig4) . We begin with those art works and then adjust a lot. We want to create the memorable scenery of falling leave trees in different emotions by varying color palettes, line distortion and many other elements. We hope to see uniqueness results in every minting for our collectors.

Daniel:

- A long time ago, I came across some of Bidala's creations, and I absolutely loved them. Not only are they beautiful, but they also have a unique and special style. Bidala's paintings depict nature but with vibrant colors and a somewhat "artificial" feel.

- I was so amazed by her work that I approached her about the possibility of collaborating together. I suggested coding a generative collection based on one of her creations. I was thrilled when she agreed to the collaboration. We met up to get to know each other and started working on the project.

- Since then, I've been working almost every day, setting aside specific time blocks for the project. Initially, I thought it would be easy, but it ended up taking more time than I expected.

- I started drawing things in a way that resembled Bidala's style, trying out different ideas and discarding ones we didn't like. We experimented with backgrounds, geometric shapes, and plants. At some point, we decided to focus on drawing a tree, which is a significant element in my own work and Bidala agreed.

- Bidala had the final say in choosing the colors for the project, and she has a keen sense of color sensitivity. Meanwhile, I focused on adding various distortions to the backgrounds, the tree, and other elements. Given that Bidala's landscapes have a geometric quality, I thought that introducing distortions would emphasize the artificial nature of things in her world.

- To add an extra touch, I included animation, not only during the generation of the artwork, but also when the viewer interacts with it. Clicking on the artwork would cause leaves (or flowers) to gracefully fall as if they were being carried away by the wind.

- We decided to let the minter adjust 4 parameters (aspect ratio, color palette, background type and tree type (leaves or flowers)). Many of the features are though randomly decided at minting time.

You can play or mint the project in fxhash.
